Step 1

Starting with a cabinet I scavenged from a dumpster (as always!) Took some hardware cloth (steel mesh) and formed it into the rough shapes of the decor I chose. A fallen log, and a tree stump.

Step 2

Covered the forms with GREAT STUFF foam. It can be carved and painted once cured to resemble tree bark.

Step 3

Using a kitchen knife, the cured foam is cut and trimmed down to the sizes and shapes I want for the project.

Step 4

Covered the forms with black silicone, and pressed coco-fiber into it (brown stuff that looks like dirt) Also added acrylic paint, in shades of brown and green, to help the forms resemble a rainforest - Peaches native home.

Step 5

Adding fake greenery and flowers completes the picture. Drilled holes for ventilation, cut a hole in the ceiling to install the light and screen. Now it needs doors and a snake.

Viola!

Added the substrate (organic potting soil, fir bark, and coco-fiber), water dish, places to hide, and of course, the doors, and the lock, and the snake.
