Step 1

This was formerly used to house an iguana (horribly small for that, but the owner was fairly ignorant too). It is just a wood box, that came with a plexi panel screwed to the front, and about a gajillion holes drilled into everything. The wire thing is a form i will later cover with foam, and eventually carve and paint and texturize to look like a tree.

Step 2

Foam has been applied. Once cured, it will be cut with a regular kitchen knife.

Step 3

Applied the base coats of paint, some of this will show through after I have glued the dirt in place to give it a more natural texture. First I applied a layer of black, followed by bronze (Yes, i was feeling spunky and crafty)

Step 4

The dirt (coconut fiber marketed to the public as Eco-Earth or Bed-A-Beast) was glued in place with aquarium silicone - and if a little of the paint shows through, well, it'll look good. The wood areas have also been sealed with acrylic.

Step 5

Added the plants, I have also made him a little cave to hide in (not featured in picture), and need to reaffix the front panel, but the cage is essentially done, once I add his substrate, water dish, etc, and of course the snake. Will post more pictures once it is installed.

Step 6

Added plexi front, and all cage accessories, and of course snake.

Step 7

The shelf had to be custom made to fit the cage underneath (Puffs), and the cage on top (Peaches)
