Puff

Jurassic Milk Snake

Lampropeltis spp.

Puff is short for Puff the Magic Chinese Finger Trap, because of his tendency to tie your fingers up when you hold him. He is very fast, and very smart, and attracted to bright colors.

Hatched Summer 2007

Jurassic Milks are not a naturally occurring species, they are (supposedly) a cross between a Florida Kingsnake, Honduran Milksnake, and/or California Kingsnake. These are pictures of some of the possible parent species: the Florida Kingsnake (left) the Honduran Milk Snake (center) and the California Kingsnake (right). All are members of the genus Lampropeltis which is a large group of snakes that includes all species of milksnakes and kingsnakes. All of these species interbreed very easily, so it's impossible to tell what species were really crossed to make Puff.
